At the start of 2021, as part of the implementation of its strategic roadmap, Rexel announced the acquisition of Freshmile Services, an electric vehicle charging station operator, reinforcing the Group’s position as a global expert in the professional distribution of energy solutions.

With smart homes, energy monitoring and connected devices, the Internet of Things (IoT) encompasses a wide range of uses and sectors, most notably in relation to the energy transition. The growth in green solutions, energy storage, self-generation and management of energy and new modes of transport has become a major opportunity in the field of smart buildings, networks and infrastructure, and one into which Rexel has invested heavily.

Industry 4.0, considered to be the latest industrial revolution, is characterized primarily by factories going digital and using innovative technologies.
