Rexel enhances its offer with the acquisition of specialist software and green energy companies
At the start of 2021, as part of the implementation of its strategic roadmap, Rexel announced the acquisition of Freshmile Services, an electric vehicle charging station operator, reinforcing the Group’s position as a global expert in the professional distribution of energy solutions. By integrating Freshmile’s software and services offer, Rexel is now able to take advantage of the new development opportunities that are emerging from this high growth market, whilst reinforcing its offer in the e-mobility market in France.
Rexel also acquired a 25% stake in Trace Software International, a French company founded in 1990 and specialised in building design software for the commercial building sector and the energy industry. They offer two software suites for the design and calculation of electrical and solar installations, both of which interact seamlessly with Building Information Modelling (BIM) projects. This acquisition allows Rexel to strengthen its value-added proposition by helping its clients to be more efficient, and reinforces its position in the commercial building sector, alongside its comprehensive residential offering, which incorporates software solutions from Esabora and Comtech.
In February, Rexel also announced the acquisition of the Canadian arm of WESCO International (“WESCO Canada Utility”), in order to continue to consolidate its position in North America.
