Rexel recognized for the quality of its ESG commitments
As testament to the strength and credibility of its social and environmental commitments, Rexel has recently been recognised by a wide number of national and international rankings.
The Group came 1st in its sector and 11th worldwide in the “Global 100” ranking from Corporate Knights, a media and research center specializing in CSR. Every year, this award recognises the top 100 sustainable companies, who have succeeded in reconciling their social responsibility with their financial performance. Rexel also leads its sector in the Le Point – Statista ESG ranking, which surveys the most sustainable companies in France.
In a study conducted by the Financial Times and the Statista Institute on diversity and inclusion in the workplace, Rexel ranked second in the ‘wholesale’ sector out of 15,000 European firms. This distinction highlights Rexel’s continuous efforts over the last few years and recognizes the relevance of the Group’s commitments and key achievements in the area of diversity. Finally, Rexel’s score improved significantly in the 2019 ranking of women in top management positions in the largest companies in France, published by the French Secretariat in charge of equality between women and men and for fighting discrimination, in partnership with Ethics & Boards (an international governance intelligence and monitoring solutions provider) and the French business weekly Challenges. These various accolades recognize the continuity of Rexel’s commitments and efforts, which were also rewarded in 2020 when the Group appeared for the second year running in the ranking of the 500 best employers in France, compiled by French monthly business and economics magazine Capital.
In terms of the quality and transparency of its financial information, Rexel is committed to maintaining and promoting the highest possible standards in this area. As a result, the Group came in 16th place in the ranking of the SBF120’s Grands Prix de la Transparence – Labrador, which for the past 11 years has rewarded the quality of regulated information published by the largest French companies. Last but not least, at the 2020 AGEFI Grand Prix awards, which recognize the best corporate governance practices among French companies, Rexel was nominated in the “shareholder democracy, information transparency and communication quality” category as well as in the “corporate institutions performance” category, and achieved a top three ranking in the SBF 80 for both.
These results demonstrate Rexel’s commitment to implementing best practices, on a daily basis, at all levels of the organization and across the value chain, and go above and beyond regulatory standards, contributing to the stability and performance of the company for all of its stakeholders.
